I'm Nicolás Emilio Huffmann, adventourist since SEP/30/1946. I was born in this neigbourhood just because my mother arrived to Buenos Aires 4 months earlier, from Belgium, with my father and two elder brothers; I've had two more since, but that's another story. I'm married -for 34 years- and we have had 4 children: 30 yrs. (M, Industrial Engineer), 27 (F, Psychologist like her Mom), 21 (F, Architecture Student), y 19 (M, Publicity Student)... Officially I'm a registered "expert" in Tourism" (Nº 3177) and I've been related to this activity for 34 years now... although I did leave it for 5 years. Having been the owner and Director of "HOLIDAY EXPRESS ARGENTINA", presently I work in creating, and operating, special excursions throughout Argentina -although I travel to neighbouring countries- "to discover those places you think -or wish- to know"... I took a look around my backyard -Argentina-, but I still feel that something's still there to be discovered. I've crisscrossed Patagonia many times: enormous distances, fascinating dirt and stone roads, glaciers, lakes, caves and grottos, etc; the "Cuyo" area -Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis- with tortuous roads and beautiful landscapes, canyons, horse-riding, rafting and other adventures; Mesopotamia with it's rivers, waterfalls, meadows and history..., Córdoba with it's special hilly landscape, Jesuit missions, and more...; Neuquén with it's prehistoric landscapes and mysteries strewn all around, and the great deal of the North West and East of Argentina, with land still to be discovered, plus the great variety of birds and animals to watch, all in the midst of the wildest landscape. And let me also drive you, with my Inca Expedition -running since 1999- across the Altiplano of Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, to Potosí, Tiwanaku, Cusco, Nazca, and more, through the Inca civilization... Unlike many of my colleagues who specialize in 4x4 driving and are beginning to come into Tourism, I am a specialist in touristic places to visit, service, and, for ten years now, I operate expeditions in 4x4... For that reason I am able to show you programmes that I created and operate, bringing to fruition many people's dreams to know places according to the time and $$$ at their disposal. But aventurismo is not a travel agency: no... It is the combination of expeditions, in 4x4, or on horseback, or walking, invoking the stories, legends and mysteries of each place visited... but of course under the wing of an official organization. And aventurismo is there at the moment of planning an expedition or adventure when you ask questions like -How do we get there? -What are the highlights there? -What happens if we break down? Is it safe to go on our own?, etc. These doubts delay decisions, and time goes by ... For that reason I offer expeditions and itineraries for you to convert mere names on a map into something tangible and memorable... in order to be able to hear "That was great!...", "Do you remember when... etc?" Because aventurismo is the exact medicine or therapy to loose the urban "stuffed brain" effect caused by stress, routine and everyday up-and-downs... and sleep the sleep of a day well spent. Having learned the lesson from the local ancestors, I respect life: before the Spanish "Conquista", there was nothing known as sport hunting, or sport fishing... and environement was a priority: the main cult was to the "Mother Earth", the Pachamama. Today, I still respect this "law": I only organize flora, fauna, and landscapes observations.. . and I am enthusiastic about it. We only "leave behind us our footprints and take home nothing but photographs" and your memories of being hypnotized by the flight of the condor, or the colours of flamingos... My wish is to turn my clients into my best salesmen... Will you help me? I look forward in happily discussing arrangements and costs, etc... Please contact me at my e-mail address: neh@aventurismo.net.ar or by telephone. Buenos Aires: (+54 11) 4732 2602 or Cell: (+54 9 11) 4477-5968
